Microsoft unveiled the official trailer for Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn at Comic-Con. The series will be initially distributed worldwide by Machinima, debuting on its new channel, Machinima Prime, as well as on Halo Waypoint, on Oct. 5, 2012. “Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn” will unfold through a series of five episodes, setting the stage for the worldwide launch of “Halo 4″ on Nov. 6.

What this series does is show us a completely different side to the fps we’ve come to know and love for its straight-forward action-packed game play; it adds huge doses of heart and emotion as it takes us to the beginning in order to introduce us to the characters in an up-close and personal way. We come to know Thomas Lasky played by Tom Green, a brave yet doubtful cadet, who struggles to believe he has what it takes to be the best for the good of his peers, superiors, and ultimately his world as he embarks side by side with Master Chief, played by Daniel Cudmore (Twilight Saga) to save life as he knows it by taking action against the alien covenant, which has invaded his world. What this series does is humanizes everything we know about the game by telling its story and focusing on the characters and events that come to pass throughout the franchise right up to Halo 4: Master Chief!

There’s no doubt that devs have seen the potential gaming has in terms of revenue when combing them with what Hollywood has to offer and that’s not to say that Hollywood hasn’t. In fact, the series’ production team is backed by BIG WIGS Lydia Antonini (Warner Bros.) and Josh Feldman (Playtone). The cool people of Legacy Effects (Hunger Games, The Avengers, & Avatar) continue their involvement in the Halo Franchise will be in charge of costumes & Armor. Finally, but not even close to least, in terms of writing, the series has Todd & Aaron Helbing at the helm whom have written on epic productions such as Smallville, Spartacus: Blood and Sand, and Mortal Kombat: Legacy.
