Disney/Pixar Brave Movie Review
This is a story about mothers and daughters and the ways they clash over basic, seemingly simple things, only to find their ultimate connection in the very things they can’t change about each other. Brave is one of the best movies ever made from a young rebel’s standpoint. There isn’t an ultimate prince in the entire lot who can offer Princess Merida (Kelly MacDonald) everlasting happiness, while allowing the fiery red curly haired princess to be herself. Her parents, the king (Billy Connolly) and queen (Emma Thompson) promised Merida’s hand in marriage to one of the three clan sons competing for her hand in marriage. Merida does not want to get married and believes marriage is a sign of living someone else’s life – a life she doesn’t want. When it becomes apparent that the queen is unwilling to budge, Merida finds a witch (Julie Walters) and asks for help in changing her mother’s mind about getting married. There is that saying “be careful what you wish for” and that’s exactly what this film is about! Needless to say, Merida’s wish back fired and her mother, Elinor, is turned into the bear or adventure Merida now needs to get to & save. Throughout the rest of the movie both Merida and Elinor form an unsuspected but everlasting bond that causes them to finally get one another. Brave has very laughing over the top moments throughout the movie. Even though the film was rated PG, we @ Geeks Gab highly recommend you see it.
